Excellent Air Cooler, Fans could be betterMar 01, 2012
By DennisT This cooler is definitely a heat sucking monster. And that's a good thing. I was looking for a sharp looking heat sink that wasn't MASSIVE in size but still got the job done and gets it done right. I think maybe the only cooler better than this one right now is the Noctua 6 Dual Heatpipe with 140mm/120mm Dual SSO Bearing Fans CPU Cooler NH-D14 - Retail, but those things are just so dang ugly I can't stand it. Looks is important to me and this one is a beaut.
The only beef I have with this cooler is the fans. (Read on before you make up your mind, it's an easy fix) The fans are 120mm which fit the heat sink perfectly and the rubber mounts work great, but the fans were pretty loud, especially with both hooked up, also they aren't LED, which I'm a fan of (no pun intended). So instead of using 2 loud 120mm fans with this masterpiece of a heatsink, I just ordered two 120mm cooler masters with red led. They hook up the exact same way, they're the exact same size. The blades are a bit of a different style and they definitely look better than the Spire stock fans.
Problem fixed, now, not only is it much quieter, but I actually dropped a couple degrees as well. The fans are the only reason I gave this product 4 stars otherwise it would get 5. I would highly recommend this cooler to anyone looking to do some moderate overclocking, just replace the fans :)
works greatJan 20, 2012
By bk i have been looking for a cooler for my 2600k @4.8 ghz, i had the cool master hyper 212+ and was getting alright temps but with the overclock, the temps were a little high under 100% load using prime 95, i tried a few coolers before this one including cool master 612 and zalman 9700 these 2 coolers were about equal to if not a little worse that the hyper 212+ but when i installed this cooler Wow 8 to 10' cooler i was very happy and i only payed $ 28 dollars for it @ micro center but its worth twice that its that good

Best CPU coolerJan 22, 2011
By Vinnie Grande This is the best cpu cooler according to frostytech.com for intel based motherboards and it really shows. I only have 1 of the fans on it (it comes with 2) and won't go past 60C with an E8400 set at 3.6GHZ (stock is 3.0GHZ). I'm planning on bumping it up to 4.0GHZ when i get new ram, then applying the second fan for precaution. I have high hopes it wont go past 65C when i set it to 4.0GHZ especially with the second fan added on.

LET IT BE COLD!!!Jan 02, 2011

This heat sink does the freakin job alright! I've been looking for a heat sink to really cool down my CPU so I would feel comfortable with over clocking. I checked on FrostyTech's site ([...]) and according to them this was the all time best! So, I said, "what the heck?" that's when I bought it. I thought my heat sink was good...but this thing is SSSSOOO MUCH BETTER!!!! Spire TherMax Eclipse II brought the temperature down 10 degrees and thats in Celsius too! Well, I trust in FrostyTech's decision now and I'm glad I got this. If you don't want to go water cooling like me, then this is something to BUY not try.
