I bought four of these Scythe Kama cooling fans for my custom computer. They are very quiet and effective.

used it for my VGA air duct from haf x case, I have gtx 580 3-way sli, I used to get hot temps because there is no space between the cards I had 79c maximum temp!

after using this fan I get less 5c ~ 7c

now max temp is 72~73c on GPU intensive games like metro

70c max temp on BF3 !

not too loud and very effective.

5Very quiet and good airflow.Jan 15, 2012

This product got good reviews at a PC enthusiast site, so I gave it a shot. It's very very nice. Very good airflow and very quiet, particularly given how much airflow you get. At higher RPM's, there is a slight whine if you listen closely, but I don't generally run it that high. Construction seems solid. No complaints.

5Super quiet fan!Dec 29, 2011

I was referred to this type of fan from a work collegue and I must say, they are extremely quiet. I have started using these fans to provide active thermal management systems for A/ V Gear in cabinetry. We have always used Middle Atlantic's ATM systems, but we always get the complaint that the fans are way too LOUD! I purchased a pair of these fans and mocked them up, and I was amazed! SUPER QUIET, but still exhausted the hot air. I'm sold...

4Quite, and powerfulOct 29, 2011

I recently put one of these in my desktop. It's very powerful and i bougt it after searching for "best desktop fan." It was one of the recommendations and it had a good review here, so winner. It's pretty quiet. It does have a high pitch hum to it though. Mine is mounted on the top of my case, so it's probably more noticable, The hum starts at around 1150 RPM and contiunes to get louder until it's peak at 1900 rpm. I think if this was a rear mounted fan it wouldn't be a big deal the sound would be dampered.

I use speed fan to monitor fan speeds and may eventually exchange this one for a lower rpm fan. Again this is not a ideal fan for front, or top mount.

Remember fans should be mounted low rpms in the front to control sound, medium rpms on the sides, and high rpms at the back, for best sound management.
