A worthy productFeb 25, 2012
By Methodical I also received the adaptor cable with 2x 4 pin connectors. They were ordered from this link here displaying the product, fulfilled by Amazon, on behalf of CoolPC, Inc. Although you have to modify the connector, it's a nicely built and clean looking cable that will show nicely in your computer. For those that receive the 4 plug connectors, instead of clipping the 3rd wire (could be yellow or green); yellow in my case, just use a pair of needle nose pliers and twist left and right or in a circle a few times and the male pin inside the connector will come off real easy and clean. This is the cleanest modification and you don't have to remove any sheathing that way you can maintain the nice look of the cable without any signs of work being done to it. All in all I had happy with the product and would order again if needed.
Fortunately though there were reviewers here that tipped folks off about the 4th wire or that would have left some folks dazed and confused; however even if you don't modify the cable, the fans will continue to work, you just get erratic rpm readings from your BIOS or fan monitoring programs. So I tip my hat to the folks that brought this to our attention.

PWM-Y Cable AdapterMay 21, 2011

I bought a couple of these Y adapters specifically because the product description and another reviewer had stated that the sense line (for reading rpm's) was only present on one of the 2 fan conections and there was even a label on the connection that had the sense line present! If this were the case, then you would receive accurate rpm readings for the fan connected to the connector with the sense line present. Otherwise if both had sense lines active your rpm readings would be erratic, unless by some very good fortune both of your fans spin at the very same speed at all times, for your m/b cannot distinguish the data being read is from two seperate fans feeding the same fan header accurately. Anyway both of the y adapters I recieved here have sense lines on both connectors, thus I'll have to clip one, which is what I wanted to avoid having to do by buying this particular adapter to begin with. Obviously the manufacturer has changed or Amazon had changed vendors and what others had recieved and reviewd at an earlier date, is no longer the same product being shipped out today. The quality of the product remains to appear high. The black sheathing wrapping the wire leads look nice and showcase well. I'm just disappointed I did not get what the product description and previous reviewer had described.

Solid CableAug 06, 2010
By Intile Excellent Cable, does what it is supposed to do - Makes the motherboard take control of the RPM's of 2 fans. Used it to allow my motherboard to control the Fan speed of my Dual CoolerMaster Blademaster 120mm in push/pull configuration on my Hyper 212 plus. Works like wonders, plus the quality of the cable is great, sleeved and very resistant.

Works great for Push/Pull fan setupFeb 24, 2012
By Maximka I use this cable with a 2 fan Push Pull setup of Coolermaster 212 EVO and Sabertooth motherboard. Works fine. I have not expirienced the problems that some of the other users have mentioned. Mine arrived with a 3 pin and 4 pin male connectors. Shipping from Coolerguys was very quick.

Works as describedJan 27, 2012
By Chrism13 I have a Dell XPS 8300 and needed this cable to install two fans in my system for a CPU liquid Cooling System.
After reading the reviews for this item I was skeptical. When the cable arrived, it wasn't as many described, with one lead having a pin removed and the other having a white sticker. But I tried it anyway and it worked like a charm. I could hear the fans spinning faster as the CPU heated up and then spinning down as the CPU cooled. There were no errors within my BIOS or in Windows.
