By Marceloc It should be explained that it won't work as hot swap unless your MB supports it. But if your MB supports it, it will, most probably, have e-Sata ports.

By Mick the Ginge Worked very well with my external SATA (eSATA) drive. It the drive is not picked up after you have plugged it in you may need to go into the computers bios and enable the SATA controller. In my desktop I have 4 SATA connectors, two are controlled by the default SATA controller the other two are optional. After enabling the second controller the external eSATA based drive worked like a charm. I see speeds of over 50MBps between the internal SATA drace and external SATA drive
