The fan worked fine and was quiet for 3 weeks. However, after 3 weeks, it began making a hideous grinding noise. I removed it from service at this point, so I am not sure if it was close to death, but it didn't sound healthy.

Medium to low air flow for this size & voltage,. day one, did its job as it should, day two it started making a ticking noise,. technically it didn't stop "working",. but put it in the trash can on day three. Priced way to high at 8$ for this low of quality. Evercool is usually ok-ish,. But I think this one is a surplus/dud,. This is delivered Surplus/OEM style,. no packaging,. ie no idea where it came from, or what it may have come out of (though it was clean and new looking), if its more than 2.99 don't risk it. Otherwise many better 40mm 5v options for 8$ out there if you look.
