We created this kit for use on components which have vents on the top of them, simply place the blower fans on top and it'll suck the warm air out of the device and shoot it out the back.
Works great to cool Receivers, DVRs and other media equipment.

I purchased this unit to cool an Onkyo receiver with serious heating issues, and have found these fans to be extremely quiet and very effective so far. My AV cabinet is open in the front and back, with only about three inches clearance above the receiver. Before installing the fans the receiver was quite hot to the touch after anything other than limited use. Since installing the fans I've had no trouble with heat whatsoever. These fans are specifically designed for use with top-vented units, like my receiver. I placed the fans on the vents at the back of the unit, and they pull air up out of the receiver and direct it out the back of the cabinet. This also results in cool air being pulled into the front of the cabinet and down into the unit. Note that this unit is manually controlled; other more expensive cooling units are designed to turn on and off automatically based on temperature. Great product so far, does exactly what I needed. Will update if any problems arise.

I have this kit being used to cool off my Marantz SR6003 and two addtional fans cooling my Xbox and PS3 when turned on. Very quiet fans but move a lot of air out of my cabinet.

Bought it, didn't work at all, sent it back. i.e.- nothing I did could get either fan to spin. The molex connectors only orient one way, and there's just a simple rheostat with on/off toggle, so it's not as if I wasn't following the instructions (none were included, by the way, though this is so simple a product that I wouldn't be concerned about that). Maybe I just got a random defective one, but I would be a little wary buying another one. I will try a different product first.
