Smooth & QuietMay 30, 2010 I used the fan for a custom desk I am building to house an always on desktop. Even with some vent ports I was worried about heat buildup. Installed the fan to exhaust the air next to the PC. Makes almost no sound when installed correctly and seems to do what I wanted.
Nifty little fanApr 14, 2010 These fans have been a pretty good purchase. I am using them to ventilate a decent amount of space (~11 cu. ft. per unit, I have 4 units) and they have done a pretty good job of dropping the temperature a couple of degrees. One of the fan grills that was sent was for a 120mm face so that was a little frustrating. Also the screw holes in face plate where you mount the fans were not properly aligned so I had to bore them out a little bit more to get the fans mounted to the plate. I have had the fans for about a month now and they are on for about 8 hours a day everyday and they are still going strong.
Great Cooling Fans, Poor Manufacturing on Mounting PlateFeb 02, 2010 I really like how these cooling fans operate very quietly and are powered by USB so they start up whenever I boot my computer. I haven't installed them in my desk yet though because the holes in the fans don't line up with the holes in the mounting plate. So I'm going to have to drill some new holes in the plastic myself before I can mount it. This would be a great product if the hole true position was correct, but its not.
Great Product but, could be fantastic!!!!!!!Jan 30, 2010 I purchased a new desktop computer and desk. The space for the tower drive was enclosed and appeared to be have no air circulation. When I would open the door, I could feel the heat pour out of the cabinet. I ordered this fan which was fairly easy to install and the heat was gone. The only way I could see improving on the product would be to include a little longer usb cord and a template for cutting the hole in a cabinet. Anyway, that is it. It is super quiet and does what I needed it to do.
Screw holes not alignedJan 23, 2010 This is overall a good product. Very quite fans and does what it does well.
The problem is the screw holes on the panel are not perfectly aligned with the screw holes on the fan. It's a few mm off. So you have to tilt the screw towards a certain angle to be able to force in. You have to do this with all screws because if one does not tilting enough, you won't even be able to force the one on the opposite side in at all. It's not a major problem, but what could have been done in less than one minute would cost you much longer.
