Exactly what I needed for cabinet fansApr 10, 2011
By karmicscorpio This power supply is exactly what I needed to run the two 120mm PC case fans I installed in my home theater cabinet where my receiver and cable box are installed (one for intake at the bottom and exhaust at the top). I plugged the power supply into the switched outlet on the receiver to ensure adequate cooling when it's running, no issues at all - I highly recommend it!

Simple Power SupplyOct 10, 2007
By C. Bollinger My entertainment center is getting full of various A/V components and starting to heat up. I decided to cut a hole in the back of the cabinet to install a quiet PC fan for ventilation. I ordered this product to power the fan and it works like a charm.

Powers HDD and FANSDec 12, 2011
By SpeedingCheetah Finally found one of these that would power a hard drive AND fans. I have purchased different brands of this kind of power cord from online and physical stores, some coming with a usb to sat adapter. Most of the time, the power cord would only power an hdd, not a case fan, or any other molex device. Not sure why they do this, they all are rated the same...5v/12v 2amps...I bought a KGear branded one that powered hdd fine, but would barely spin a fan. THIS PRODUCT powers both perfectly.

A revised review of why I am now giving this 2 stars instead of my previous 5 out of 5Oct 14, 2011
By Expendable I must update and revise my review for this product. I recently bought another one of these adapters (late April), but they have changed them within the past year. They took away the ground wire and the molex wire also appears to be a little thicker (or the protective casing around the wires just may be thicker). Why did they change it, i will never know and this new adapter that I bought couldn't even handle 2 of my cold cathodes without the brick running hot. Also, the sound activation that these cathodes have would not even work properly when connected to this adapter.
My older adapter that I bought in October of 2011 works great and I have no complaints about it. Since this new adapter that I bought could not withstand or operate my cathodes properly, I am now forced to connect all of my cathodes up to my old adapter and guess what, THAT OLD ADAPTER SUPPORTS ALL 6 CATHODES AND THE BRICK RUNS COOL!
Here is what I wrote about the first adapter that I bought, but with the experience of this defective product, it is nullified: ""I bought this for wiring cathodes behind my monitors. Man, was it worth it! This little adapter certainly did its job with little ease. I have 4 Logisys 15" cold cathodes (sound activated) hooked up to this adapter and I know it most likely can do more. The only problem I found is that it maybe could have a power switch on it (as many other people have stated too). But all in all, it is a sturdy and great product all around!""
