Cabcool 802 Lite 5v Dual 80mm Fan Cooling Kit for Cabinet & Home Theaters
This "Lite" version of our Cabcool cooling kits is a great selection if you just want a no nonsense easy to install kit to keep your stuff cool.
We paired our silent 5 volt fans with a wall wart style 2 prong ac adapter so you can power it from a standard wall socket or any entertainment device that has an outlet.
Also available in a single 120mm and single 80mm versions
A very quiet 5 volt stand alone system, perfect to go on when your AV amplifier goes on, or just run all the time.
This is a complete kit for a dual fan unit (8.25" x 4.25" x 1.25") that will quietly cool your cabinet or multimedia center.
Can be mounted on any side of a cabinet, where room permits, by cutting a hole approximately 3/4" smaller on all sides of the outside bracket.
Insert completed cooler assembly in hole and attach to cabinet with appropriate screws.
Fan(s) can be set to blow into or out of the cabinet depending on your needs.

 Works Deceivingly WellSep 01, 2010
When I got this and plugged it in to test it I thought the fans may be lacking in ability to move air but once I mounted them in my media cabinet I realized they work very well. My cabinet consist of a Power Conditioner, Receiver, Satellite TV receiver, PS3, XBOX 360, Wii, Apple TV, Wireless Router, and Modem. If I had more than one thing on at a time it would get very hot. Not since I installed these quiet fans.

I bought this unit to place in the back of my stereo cabinet. It easily assembled in about ten minutes and works great! I can't believe how quiet it is--can be a foot away and can't hear anything! I've had other fans that worked fine--but made an annoying constant hum or whine--this is a pleasant improvement. Am probably going to buy another to use with my Apple Time Capsule (which gets very hot)--and mount it underneath the unit.

This fan kit has everything you need to bring your media cabinet temps down. I ordered these because my DVR was overheating to the point of becoming non-functional. It would actually give me a message saying it was overheating.
Anyway, installing these fans was a snap, and now my cabinet temps are way lower. Nice and cool in there.
Best part about these fans is that they are completely quiet. I run them 24/7 since my DVR is always recording stuff, and these things are literally silent. Even when you get up close to them you can't hear them at all. They push a reasonable amount of air, too, so the silence is surprising.
My only problem is that the screw holes on the fans are very weak. When attaching them to the mounting bracket, at least 3-4 of the screw holes broke open as I was putting the screws in. They are still snuggly mounted though, so I don't mind much. Just be extra careful when screwing them in.
I plan on buying another one of these kits to cool the other part of the cabinet.

I bought this fan kit to keep the cabinet housing my home theater equipment from getting too hot. Upon opening the package and inspecting the components, I called CoolGuys because I thought I was missing a connector - my bad for not reading the instructions beforehand. They answered the call quickly and explained how the unit needed to be connected - so, no missing part. I assembled the kit in about 5 mins. All the materials seem to be sturdy and of good quality. Some posters here have complained about mounting holes not be properly aligned. I did not experience this at all. I installed it in my cabinet in another 5 mins. The fans are absolutely quiet - you can't even hear them at arm's length. Great product and excellent customer service. I definitely recommend this kit.

I have a toddler in the house and anyone who has had kids will know that they love to touch things and push buttons. This becomes an issue when you want to watch movies or play video games and you have to keep your door to your entertainment center open to allow cooling of all the electronic equipment. I purchased the CabCool 802 fans and with some minor work I was able to install it on my entertainment center within 20 minutes. Now I can run my reciever, PS3, and DVD changer all at once and the temperature stays the same inside the entertainment center as it is in the living room. I was blown away as to how quiet the fans are. The only way I can hear them is if I turn off the TV and the AC in the house stops, then you can barely hear them. So I guess I'm good to go until my little girl figures out how to open the door.
Pros: Works perfect, virtualy silent, easy to install, and very affordable.
Cons: Won't deliver to Guam, had to modify the plastic mounting bracket to fit the fan cages (included).
