I purchased this for my 17" Dell Widescreen and it has been a huge disappointment. While it fits the laptop nicely (I had a difficult time finding one that would), it is very cheaply made. First of all, I did not realize that it must be plugged in to a wall using AC power, and will not run on USB alone. What's the point? I bought one in May and the day I took it out of the box and plugged it in, the internal plug broke and fell into the machine. I returned it and got another about a week later, and I've only used it maybe four or five times and just discovered it will not work. I would not recommend this product to anyone!

My machine was in desperate need of cooling, since it has the Nvidia GeForce 8700M card, overclocked, running very hot. It took me forever to find a notebook cooler big enough for my nine pound, 17 inch monster. This one is solid, sturdy, moves a lot of air on medium speed, and the price is reasonable.

the first one is broken when I receive and then the amazon give me another one. It's a very good cooler but the noise is pretty loud.
