Works as advertised (after some troubleshooting--my bad)Sep 08, 2006

After initial trouble it works great. When I received it, I connected the drive to power and the 40 pin header, then connected the USB. It either worked intermittently or not at all (I heard the USB connection sound then the disconnection sound)
Later after thinking of sending it back, a ran across a review that said to check the jumper settings on the drive. After changing the setting on the hard drive from cable-select to MASTER (then) it worked without a hitch.
Works well with various hard drives and manufacturers. 6.4G, 10G, 15G, 200G, Seagate, Maxtor, WD. Doesn't seem to recognize smaller 4.3 or 3.2GB drives. Works on Mac OSX
