Great FanMar 16, 2011
By Brian Rogers I am using this fan to cool my audio receiver. I place it on top without the black mesh cover and fitted it with a shroud made of cardboard. I am powering it at 6V and it is really quiet. So far, it is very reliable and keeps the receiver much cooler than stock. I have to have cooling since my clearance for the receiver (Onkyo TX-SR876) in the cabinet is very limited.

An outstanding fan!Apr 01, 2009
By Diana S. Rogers I needed a fan to mount on the outside of my case, and this was exactly the one I needed.
I put a Cooler Master V-8 in my Marvelous Gaming Case, and found that the internal side fan would not clear the V-8 (the V-8 came to EXACTLY the inside of the cover.) I could not mount the internal fan on the outside because it had no grill. I needed a grill to protect little noses and paws and tails (kitties; you know how they like to go everywhere.)
With a little ingenuity, it mounted right up and runs in even more air than the stock fan did. This fan really should be more available.
Side note: I would think that the Cooler Master guys would make a cooler that is 3/4 of the V-8, so that it would fit more cases better, and thus increase sales. The V-8 really is a whole lot of cooler.

EffectiveJul 24, 2010
By Gaisa Definitely effective and surprisingly quiet, the hardest part was adapting the case (which wasn't designed to take such a large fan) to fit the fan, but I'm glad I did, because the machine's a heck of a lot more reliable now its VERY well cooled.
silent but coolDec 31, 2011
By Mike I'm not sure what I can say, this fan works exactly as advertised. Its nice and big, comes with a shroud, so when I cut a big hole in the side of my computer, the Jagged edges were hidden. My computer no longer struggles with heat issues at all. I've loaded my machine with 5 hard drives and a 1000w power supply, and an ATI graphics card that does produce a decent amount of heat. But this fan is so big, the machine has no problem dissipating the heat.
Massive fanApr 30, 2010
By B. Thornton My only complaint about this product is that it came with no instructions, just the item & mounting hardware. With a little searching online, i was able to figure out a decent way to get it installed on my case's side plexiglass window (took about 2 hrs total, with a couple breaks). I haven't noticed a large difference in general use but while gaming the temps have a considerable change. While my system used to get crashes with video card temps reaching 80 celsius, it rarely creeps over 60 now. Although that still seems high, at least I can play in more than 15 minute intervals.
